'The New Emily' was inspired by the famous line from The Devil Wears Prada, "You must be the new Emily?" I decided to use this as the name for my blog because in early 2015 I was a fresh eighteen-year-old spending Saturday nights scrolling through Instagram on her couch and a few weeks later, I was volunteering for Miro Door and then handpicked to work the rest of the week as an assistant to the Front-of-House manager at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2015.

Fast forward another few weeks and I was attending events and writing for TEO Magazine and their blog. My introduction to the fashion and media industry was fast paced and at first scary, but I thrived on it and wanted to keep learning and experiencing more, (just like Andy in TDWP)

I am currently in my second year of study in a Bachelor of Media with a journalism major at the University of Adelaide. I have worked events for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, Adelaide Fashion Festival and Casper&Pearl and have had articles published in The Advertiser's Education Now section,, On Dit Magazine, TEO Magazine and on Adelaide Food Central. I was also featured in the Advertiser's Confidential 'A-List Party People' style section.
